10-year-old riding electric scooter hit by car in NW Harris Co., officials say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A 10-year-old girl is in the hospital after being hit by a car in northwest Harris County, according to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.

Officials said the girl was riding an electric scooter near the intersection of Lincolns Meadow Drive and Dukes Run Drive on Tuesday evening.



Pct. 4 said the girl allegedly ran the stop sign and then was hit in the intersection. Officials said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with deputies at the scene.

Officials said the girl suffered significant bleeding, and deputies had to apply a tourniquet before medical personnel arrived and took her to the hospital.

The incoming lanes of Lincolns Meadow Drive were closed as officials cleared the scene, but reopened later on that evening.
